What does a Basic Design include?

A basic design clearly describes all functions, systems, and capabilities of the vessel – independent of specific suppliers. The steel structure is fully represented (without minor details), and dimensioning is based on strength calculations. We always provide a detailed drawing/document list for clarity and transparency.

Why do we use 3D models early?

3D modeling improves coordination, avoids inconsistencies, and enables better decisions. All views stay consistent, reducing design errors. Stakeholders from non-technical backgrounds benefit from clearer visuals. Material lists and cutting data can also be extracted directly from the model.

3D by example: Aft conversion

When redesigning the aft propulsion section of a vessel, our team encountered conflicting data between drawings and the ship's actual layout. We quickly converted available information into a 3D model to assess spatial constraints and plan the structural integration and installation concept. This saved valuable time and avoided costly surprises.
